The World Innovation Summit on Health (WISH) is being held in Doha, Qatar, from the 29-30 November. WISH is a global healthcare community funded by the Qatar foundation which aims to capture and disseminate the best evidence-based healthcare ideas and practices. This year’s Summit will be held at the Qatar National Convention Center, in Doha. and will bring together more than 1,000 global leaders, including government officials (including representatives from 13 Commonwealth health ministries), and healthcare experts seeking to tackle the world’s most pressing healthcare challenges.
WISH research is organised into a number of forum topics, each chaired by a world leading expert and supported by a team of senior leaders drawn from academia, research, industry and policy. Of particular interest to Hub members might be the Investing in Health forum which seeks to ‘examine how investment across various sectors can reduce mortality and simultaneously boost inclusive income, presenting synthesised findings that illustrate the economic returns sustained from research and development across health industries, drawing on case studies from China, Ghana and Myanmar.
There will also be a number of Innovation Showcases representing global healthcare innovations, ranging from practical devices and business models, to design-based solutions. The Showcases provide a chance for entrepreneurs to exhibit their healthcare innovations in front of some of the world’s leading health experts and decision makers. WISH provides a platform to enable delegates to engage with these exciting ideas that are changing healthcare from the ground up.
The hub will provide further update on developments from the summit focused on Commonwealth health and wellbeing
